Uninherited Judaism – Jewish Living & Learning Series

Join YPD as we connect to our Jewish roots and community in new and enlightening ways! Sign up for one or come for all three, this is a chance to find a new connection to the religion that brings us together. For any questions, contact Alec Rothman at arothman@jfedstl.org.
Part 1: Not Your Grandma’s Judaism
Tuesday, April 29th @ Urban Chestnut (4465 Manchester Ave.) – 6:00-8:30pm
Growing up in a Jewish household, rituals and Hebrew school are a prescribed part of the fabric of our upbringing. Once out of your parents’ house, what does it mean to make Judaism a purposeful practice, especially when leading a modern life? Dodi Taylor and Rabbi Rachel Bearman will take us beyond lighting shabbat candles into a world of ways to integrate Jewish living.
Part 2: Judaism in the Wild
Wednesday, August 13th – 6:00-8:30pm (Location announced soon!)
It’s one thing to feel Jewish and spiritually connected when sitting in your synagogue… how do we find that in other spaces? Join us for great and thoughtful conversation about how Jews today (and throughout history) have found spirituality in nature and other places beyond the shul.
Part 3: New Jews
Wednesday, December 10th – 6:00-8:30pm (Location announced soon!)
This conversation is for anyone Jewish or not (yet) to learn more about the conversion process and why it’s so highly revered. Lifelong Jews can rekindle their own connections and learn how to welcome Jewish converts.
