About the Program:
2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of a series of events this spring and summer, join the Museum in partnership with the Srebrenica Remembrance Coalition for a panel discussion with scholars and survivors of the genocide. The genocide in Srebrenica was the culmination of a three and a half year process of aggression and genocide against the Bosnian people.
Our speakers include; Dr. David Pettigrew of Southern Connecticut State University, Hasan Hasanović, Head of Oral History at Srebrenica Memorial Center, Elvir Ahmetovic, Bosnian Genocide survivor and moderated by Armina Osmanovic whose family is from Srebrenica.
This discussion will examine the tenants of trauma, resilience and memory both inside Bosnia and here in St. Louis, the largest Bosnian community outside of Bosnia.
